Daniele Frazier

03/14/19

Daniele Frazier's public installation 20 Knots: Daffodils for Boston opens on April 8, 2019 at Seaport Common (85 Northern Avenue Boston, MA 02210). It is within walking distance from the ICA museum and will be up through April 29, 2019. If you have friends in Boston, please spread the word.

20 Knots dovetails with the ongoing work of Marathon Daffodils. Now in its seventh year, Marathon Daffodils, founded by Diane Valle in response to the tragic marathon bombing, mobilizes a network of nonprofits and horticulturists to place 130,000 daffodils along the 26.2 mile marathon route. This work is commissioned by the Boston Seaport and marks their second year partnering with Marathon Daffodils. This collaboration is intended to strengthen the community by bringing beauty to where there was unfathomable loss, mayhem and sadness.

20 Knots consists of twenty 20-foot-tall hollow-volume flowers that inflate and change direction with the wind. 20 knots (about 23 miles per hours) is the ideal wind speed for this work's activation.

If you have friends in Boston, please spread the word!

Olivia Nogueira Wheaton

02/22/19

Olivia Nogueira Wheaton in collaboration with artist Alicia Nogueira present a video installation Conversations of the Heart will be at the Live Worms Gallery in San Francisco February 24-27, 2019 in San Francisco.

"After 2 months in Japan, mother and daughter present a collection of works inspired by the charming archipelago. Alicia Nogueira, Brazilian born artist is inspired by the couth and private exchanges between Japanese people in public spaces. Her daughter, Olivia Nogueira-Wheaton, is interested in the separation between bodies, the communications our edges have. While the world forgets how to communicate face to face, we still depend heavily on the multiplication of imagery. Invisible boundaries make life a constant fight for territory in a shrinking world." — Live Worms Gallery
